Lo que tu digas

I am a HUGE fan of Moenia but after having seen them for the 5th time last February even I had to admit I needed a break from their music. I think I went almost 4 months without even touching one of their cd's. Their last two albums ( a covers album and a live album) were meant to give the group some time to come up with some new and fresh. Well, I think they used their time wisely and accomplished their goal. If the new album is anything like this first single I am going to cum all over my cd player! Check it out!

100 Drag Queens

On Wednesday evening I went to Sidetrack for the annual "Night of a 100 Drag Queens". Normally this would not be an event I would attend but JQ was performing and asked that I come see him. It didn't occur to me to bring a camera so the picture I posted is actually from last year. Anyhoo, you get the idea. There were drag queen perfomances that alternated between two different stages. I am not a fan of drag queens but there seemed to be more of a "comedy" theme going on for most of the night which made everything far more entertaining than watching the usual pretentious queens attempt to lip sync through some crappy Cher remix. There were also alot of scantily clad back up dancers (JQ being one of them) that provided for nice eye candy. I was unable to see JQ's final performance though because I needed to be in bed by 11pm. I officially cannot function without a full 8 hours of sleep. Speaking of which, I went last night to pick up my ticket for the Belanova concert. The concert is "invite only" so I had to win a ticket and then go to some trashy bar to get it. Anyhoo, in order to do this I had to stay up past my bedtime. Dear god, I really am getting old because I woke up late today and missed my first class. I don't even want to know what would have happened had I stayed out even later! Thank god I didn't have any exams or quizzes.

I think I need to invest in a coffee maker.

Trashtastic!

There is nothing wrong with looking through the garbage for goodies. Some people throw away some cool stuff. I however tend not to look through the garbage or even pay attention to anything next to a dumpster because I am too worried about a rat jumping out at me. The only time I can recall taking something out of the garbage was a box of condoms when I was 13. What did I need condoms for when i was 13? I don't know. I just thought it would be fun to jack off with them and not have to worry about making a mess on my sheets. But enough of that. I am not writing today to discuss my prepubescent fetishes. I want to say that the other day as I was coming into my building I noticed some books sitting next to a garbage can. One was a fancy pharmacy drug book and the other was a diagnostic medicine book. i am going to need these books in the spring. Talk about good timing! I don't know who would just toss away expensive text books like that but I was ecstatic. I am such a nerd though getting excited over books.

Narcoleptic Cocks

My Secret Friend #6 always makes fun of me in school because I have a bad habit of falling asleep during lectures. What's even worse is that I tend to sit in the third row. How ballsy of me! lol

Anyhoo, today as I was sleeping during biochemistry I was suddenly awakened when I heard the professor say something about "cocks". Now, you can't talk about male genetalia around a gay boy like me and not expect to get a reaction. I snapped out of my deep sleep, my eyes opened really wide and I began to look around. I wanted to see some "cocks" dammit! Well, to my dismay my professor was actually saying "cox", which is an abbreviation for a particular enzyme aspirin inhibits. Boo!

So Excited

Actually, the title of my post today couldn't be further from the truth. There has been nothing exciting or noteworthy in the past week hence my lack of posts. Last weekend I went with JQ to IKEA. That was fun. Who doesn't love a trip to IKEA? This week in school wasn't that bad. Oh wow. I am realizing how little I have to say today, lol. Wow this past week has been ridiculously boring.....ummmmmm.....oh, I know. Perhaps this is a good time to blog about JQ!

Well, JQ is the guy I have been dating the past two months. It is a long story how he and I met so I will try to give the cliffnotes version. Back in 2001 when I was still living in Milwaukee I came to Chicago with my fag hag for Madonna's "Drowned World" tour. Before we went to the United Center we went shopping in Boystown. At one of the stores my friend pointed out the really cute boy working at the register. I agreed that he was a total hottie. I never expected to ever run into him again considering I didn't live in Chicago at the time. Anyhoo, one year later I did move to Chicago. I didn't know many people at first so I would often go to bars by myself. Well, one night I saw one particular cute boy and I immediately recognized him from the year before (I have an excellent memory with faces, just not names). So from time to time I would see this mysterious boy around the neighborhood or at bars. He never seemed to pay any attention to me so I never suspected he was interested (I would later find out he too remembered me coming into his store and seeing me all the time too). Well, about two years ago we made eye contact one night and said hi. He was with friends and I was with friends so we didn't really get to exchange anymore information. He continued to be the "mysterious cute boy". After that incident though I decided the next time I saw him I was going to give him my number. Well, I never ran into him after that. Sometimes I have such shitty luck! lol

Anyhoo, this past August I was browsing a gay dating site. I really had no interest in meeting anyone. In fact, I didn't even have my own profile, justa login name. However, I felt like checking out all of the free nude pictures so many of these guys put in their profiles. Well, needless to say I came across JQ's profile. I couldn't believe it. His profile was very decent and not raunchy, so I immediately created a profile and contacted him. He remembered who I was so we exchanged numbers and went out for drinks that night. I have come to discover that not only is he incredibly hot and sexy, but he is smart, mature, funny and very goal oriented. He has impressed me so much that I feel like the past two months have been one long dream. He seems to good to be true.

Even though it has been 2 months I am not sure where we stand. But you know what, that's ok. The fact we have taken things so slowly has been good for the both of us. Lord knows I have had some bad experiences in the past that have left me with a lot of emotional baggage I need to sort through. So if things continue to work out that is great, and if they don't well that's great too. At least I will know that I was smart enough not to let my baggage scare me from dating again. We all have to deal with our issues eventually I suppose. Running away from our problems only makes things worse.

So I finally remember why I entitled today's post "So Excited"....I officially love Janet Jackson's latest floptastic single and album. I don't care if it sells less copies than "Dream Street" or if the critics hate it. Janet hasn't got me 'so excited' in quite a long time!

Routine Infant Circumcision is Wrong.

This isn't something I usually just randomly discuss at dinner parties, but I think my blog is the perfect outlet for completely random thoughts of the day.

Routine circumcision on newborns is wrong. The fact that it is still practiced in the US and no one seems to question this barbaric procedure disgusts me. There is absolutely no reason that a doctor should be allowed to chop off perfectly healthy skin and erogenous tissue from a newborn baby's penis. I don't care even if it is being done for religious reasons. The only person who should have a say as to what happens to that boy's genitalia is the boy himself. No one should be making that decision for him. When that boy is old enough to decide if there is any benefit to being circumcised then so be it.

I am sure most people don't think twice about this topic or perhaps don't think it is anything out of the ordinary. That is unfortunate I suppose. So many people will march and fuss over abortion, yet they seem quite indifferent to the mutilation hundreds of thousands of baby boys have to endure every year.

Pre-Control

You know, I think I was a bit too harsh on poor Janet Jackson the other day. Her new album is actually quite decent. I think "Get It Out Me" is going to be one of my Top 10 favorite Janet songs of all time. I have made a Janet playlist on my iPod in honor of the new album celebrating Janet's 24 year career as a recording artist which brings me to today's post. I am surprised by how many people are unaware of Janet's two albums that were released before "Control"! Even Janet herself seems to forget this era of her career...but not me! I can't get enough of these two pre-Control albums.....

Janet's debut album from 1982 is my favorite of the two. It featured songwriting and production credits by the legendary Angela Winbush. The album had a fun disco vibe and was the more succesful of the two. I remember seeing Janet perform the first single "Young Love" on American Bandstand. If someone knows where I can see this on the internet let me know. I checked You Tube but there was nothing!

The second album, "Dream Street", is good too. It has a completely different sound though from the first album. It is fun 80's teen dance/pop. The album flopped even worse than her debut but I think songs like "Fast Girls" and "Don't Stand Another Chance" were funky 80's gems that deserve to be resurrected on Janet's next tour!

Dancing With Beefaroni

Some of you may or may have not noticed my recent lack of Beefaroni posts. This is partly due to the fact I feel as though I have run of hot male celebrities to drool over. Also, I feel as though my posts pale in comparison to some of the stuff you may find here and here. However, it is my duty to always report on all things associated with Mario Lopez

About two weeks ago I was at JQ's house and he made me sit through "Dancing With The Stars". I was a little annoyed because there were other things I would have prefered to do than watch TV, BUT I will not lie and say I didn't appreciate seeing both Mario Lopez and Joey Lawrence. Ooh, how I would love to be in the middle of that Man-Sandwhich! Grrrrr!

I thought it was unfair that that judges were so mean to these two hotties. I think they were just jealous of Joey's bubble butt and Mario's massive biceps.

Come Back Divas Part 2

Now this is an aging diva that can knows how to keep herself relevant.......

Vanessa Williams!!!!!!

Yes, Vanessa Williams's music career may not be what it used to be in the 80's/90's, but unlike Janet Jackson, Vanessa Williams knows how to stay fierce and fabulous as an actress. I rarely watch weekly television programs. I either lose interest or don't have the time (I still have to finish watching Queer As Folk, lol), but ABC's new series Ugly Betty has totally got me hooked all thanks to the dazzling Ms. Williams! As far as I am concerned her bitchy botox loving character steals every scene. Her faggy assistant is a total riot too!

Don't anyone call me on Thursday nights because I will be busy worshipping my homegirl Vanessa!

Fucking Gray Hair

I have way too many gray hairs for being only 27. This is bullshit. And can someone explain to me why the gray hairs grow thicker and faster than the other ones? How fucking annoying. It pisses me off. oh, and let's not even talk about how hard it is to dye them!

Fuckers.

Oh, and my tonsils piss me off too. Would you believe I had tonsilitis AGAIN????? Two weeks ago I had a nasty case of viral tonsilitis. It cleared up after three days. This past Sunday I went in to work and my left tonsil felt a little sore so out of curiosity I performed a Rapid Strep test on myself and it was postive! As bizarre as it may sound I was actually relieved I had strep throat and not another viral infection. Strep throat can be treated with antibiotics. So after my shift was over I walked over to the ER and got a prescription for azithromycin. That shit works wonders so I was able to avoid all of the nasty symptoms normally associated with strep throat. Of course, feeling better isn't the only reason to seek antibiotic therapy. When left untreated a strep infection can cause rheumatic fever and kidney inflammation. I really don't want to deal with that.

This is the 5th time I have had strep throat in the past 4 years. Some people can carry this bug in their throats and never get sick....but people like me are very susceptible to the infection. I probably should have my tonsils removed but the idea of having an operation is far more stressful than the occasional swollen tonsil.

So who wants to make out with me? :)=

Come Back Divas

Now that I no longer work full time I have to REALLY be careful with my money. I am a broke bitch now so I have even had to cut back on my music purchases. Long gone are the days when I would buy 12 cd's at Virgin or Tower. However, I don't think I should deny myself the occasional CD purchase so I buy one CD every month. For October I have purchased the new album by Janet Jackson

I have been a Janet fan for years. It has been very sad though to see her music really deteriorate over the years. Janet used to be such an innovative artist but with the new millenium her music starting to go down the shitter. Janet isn't alone. Several aging female pop divas have watched their popularity decline only to desperately reinvent themselves. Mariah Carey tried to comeback with her snooze fest album, "Charmbracelet", but was still unable to improve her public image (hence the failed tour that followed). Mariah wised up though and realized her fans wanted some Rnb/Hip-hop lite songs......and it worked. Even the invincible Madonna experienced a slump. She was a bit smarter than Mimi though and gave her fans what they wanted right away.......a dance album and a tour to go with! That was definitely a shrewd decision on her part considering how well both the album and tour did.

Now it's Janet's turn. Unfortunately she hasn't learned anything from the fallen divas before her. I will admit there are definitely some great moments on "20 Y.O." yet one cannot help but feel that many of the tracks are just the usual generic crap that any Ciara/Cassie/Rihanna could shit out. The marketing behind this album has been to focus on how much Janet has accomplished since she released "Control" in 1986. How unbelievably pathetic. It's almost as if she hopes her fans don't notice how crappy she has become by reminding us of how good her music USED to be. Poor Janet. This album is going to flop big time. The first single has flopped everywhere outside of the US, and in the US it hasn't even gone Top 20. Janet should have done what Mimi and Madge did........gave the fans what the wanted and not try to trick us with some clever promotional campaign.

But yeah, the album isn't that bad. I just tend to expect a little more from Miss Jackson. I guess I should be thankful just becasue there are no obnoxious songs about her pussy this time.

Oh, and about my previous post....thanks for the comments and the phone calls. I am fine. I have some issues to deal with but it's not the end of the world. I am not perfect and a very good friend of mine pointed out that no one is perfect. It's such a simple observation yet I was unable to figure that out for myself.
